Your First Visit to Our Clifton Park Practice
When you enter our office on your first visit you will immediately be put at ease as you are greeted with a smile and a handshake. Our warm inviting environment with soft relaxing music playing in the background will help you feel right at home. Likely other families who have been enjoying the benefits of chiropractic care will be here for their regular adjustments as we introduce you to our practice.
This visit is a chance for us both to get to know each other. We feel strongly that any professional should first seek to discover if the person seeking their advice is in the right place and will truly benefit from their service. For that reason Dr. Spence will do a preliminary evaluation of your health needs at no cost.
If during his preliminary evaluation Dr. Spence feels there is a good chance he will be able to help you, he will describe what his detailed examination process will consist of, what the cost to you would be and with your approval, he would proceed with that examination. Dr. Spence has an excellent working relationship with Clifton Park Advanced Imaging and if x-rays of your spine are required he will refer you to them for any imaging studies. Their facility is fully equipped with the latest technical advances in diagnostic imaging and they are very good about following Dr. Spence’s specific imaging requests for chiropractic spinal analysis.

Your first visit is not a "treatment visit". It is a fact finding mission. If you are currently having symptoms, we want to find out if the root cause of it is subluxation (misalignment of the spine producing irritation or interference in the function of the nervous system). Or maybe you are visiting us because you understand that living a healthy lifestyle includes making it a high priority to take care of your spine and nervous system. In either case, if Dr. Spence determines you show signs of subluxation during your preliminary evaluation, he will take a detailed history and make specific measurements of your spinal positioning and function. If x-rays have been ordered, specialized measurements and analysis are taken to further document the position and alignment of your spine.
For this first visit you should plan on setting aside about 1 hour. If you have already had diagnostic testing such as an x-ray or an MRI it would be helpful to bring the films and reports with you to this visit.
As you exit after your first visit, if you have had a full examination, you will schedule your second visit which will consist of the doctor’s report of his findings from your exam and x-ray and likely your first adjustment.
